Deposit your data in Dryad
Fast & effective data sharing
Depositing your data in Dryad using the PLOS submission form is fast, easy, and free.
Start
Begin a new submission using Editorial Manager. On the Attach Files screen you’ll upload the parts of your submission, including cover letter and manuscript. You can upload your data files to Dryad at the same time with these simple steps:
Initiate the Dryad upload
On the Attach Files screen of the PLOS submission form, choose Dryad Digital Repository from the Select Item drop down menu. A new drop down will appear labeled “Select a repository.” Select Dryad, and click the Create Deposit button. Dryad will open in a popup window.
Complete the required information in Dryad
Enter details including dataset title, coauthors, abstract and keywords in the spaces provided in Dryad. Click Proceed to Upload.
Upload your data files.
On the next screen upload your data, software, figures, or tables. Include all materials necessary to reproduce the results and support the conclusions in your manuscript. Click Proceed to Review.
Review and approve your disposition
Review your files, indicate whether you’d like to make your disposition public before or after publication, and approve the license and terms of service. When you are finished click Submit.
Get your Dryad DOI
Check the green box on the top of the screen for your Dryad DOI. Make sure to record the DOI so you can include it in your submission form. When you’re done, close the Dryad window.
Back in the manuscript submission system, your Dryad files will appear alongside your other submission files.
Include your Dryad DOI in your Data Availability Statement
Later in the submission process, you’ll be asked to enter a Data Availability Statement on the Additional Information screen. Be sure to include your Dryad DOI here!
Finish
That’s all there is to it!
If your manuscript is accepted for publication, Dryad will check your data to ensure it’s ready for publication. Upon publication your dataset and final published article will be linked.
